Ghar se aaya hai. It came from home.
Why “dalan”
In many homes in Bihar, the dalan is the covered space at the front of the house, where people sit, talk and watch the day go by. It’s where visitors are welcomed and where stories get told. Dalan Tales is named after it.
The parcel from home
Anyone who has lived away from home knows the parcel: the steel dabba wrapped in newspaper, the sweets made for a festival you couldn’t travel back for, the pickle that tastes exactly like it should. Dalan Tales packs that parcel for people who grew up somewhere and live somewhere else, and for anyone who wants to taste a place properly.
Starting with Bihar
We begin with Bihar: Mithila, Magadh, Bhojpur and Anga. New regions join only when we can say who made each product and where.
Who makes what we sell
Our products are made by local people in Bihar, following traditional methods.
From the founder
“I noticed that people who have settled outside their home state never stop missing home. Dalan Tales is my way of sending a little of it back to them.”
